Opus Plasma™ Laser Skin Resurfacing in St. Catharines
Advanced skin renewal using Fractional Plasma™ resurfacing technology for texture, laxity, and sun damage.
Advanced Skin Renewal Using Fractional Plasma™ Technology
Opus Plasma™ is one of my favourite treatments to perform and the one where clients tend to notice the biggest difference. It's a fractional laser resurfacing treatment that uses plasma energy to trigger your skin's own collagen rebuilding process.
The result is tighter, smoother, more even skin that continues improving for months after a single session.
What makes it different from other resurfacing options is the plasma energy that works at a level that traditional lasers and light-based treatments can't reach. It treats texture, laxity, and tone all in one session.
Because the treatment is fractional (meaning it treats a portion of the skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact), your body heals faster than it would with a full resurfacing.
This is the most results-driven skin treatment I offer at Contour Medical.
While it does involve some real downtime, the tradeoff is visible results you can actually see and feel.
What Opus Plasma™ Treats
Opus Plasma™ is versatile. Most clients come in for one or two specific concerns, but the treatment addresses several at once:
Fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the mouth, eyes, and forehead
Skin laxity, including loss of firmness on the face, jawline, and neck
Sun damage, from uneven tone to dark spots and texture changes
Acne scarring, both shallow and deeper pitted scars
Rough or uneven texture, the kind that makes makeup sit differently than it used to
Stretch marks on the abdomen, thighs, and hips (this one surprises a lot of people)
If you're dealing with multiple concerns and don't want to address them one at a time with different treatments, Opus Plasma™ can cover a lot of ground in a single session.
Before & After Opus Plasma™
Opus Plasma™ Treatment Areas
Opus Plasma™: Full Face
Full face fractional laser resurfacing for overall texture improvement, fine line reduction, and skin tightening. This is the most requested option for clients looking for comprehensive laser facial rejuvenation.
Opus Plasma™: Face and Neck
Your neck shows your age just as much as your face. This extended treatment addresses laxity, texture, and crepey skin on both areas together so the results look cohesive rather than stopping at your jawline.
Opus Plasma™: Stretch Marks
Fractional Plasma™ energy stimulates collagen remodelling within stretch mark tissue on the abdomen, thighs, or hips. Multiple sessions are typically needed, and I'll give you a realistic picture of what's achievable for your specific marks during your consultation.
Opus Colibri Eyelift
A specialized application for the delicate skin around the upper and lower eyelids. Crepey texture, fine lines, and mild hooding without surgery. The Colibri hand piece is designed specifically for this area. It's one of the treatments clients across St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, and the Niagara region come to me specifically for.
How I Approach Your Treatment at Contour Medical
Every Opus Plasma™ session is different. I adjust the intensity based on your skin type, your specific concerns, and how much downtime you can realistically handle. A client treating light sun damage gets a different protocol than someone addressing deep acne scarring.
As a licensed nurse practitioner, I manage your entire treatment experience: pre-treatment skin prep, the treatment itself, and your post-treatment recovery with medical-grade aftercare guidance. If something comes up during healing, you're calling me directly — not a front desk.
I'll also tell you if Opus Plasma™ isn't the right fit for what you're working on. If microneedling or a ClearLift™ laser session can get you where you want to go with less downtime, I'd rather recommend that and save you the recovery days.
What to Expect From Your Opus Plasma Laser Appointment
01. Before your treatment.
I'll assess your skin in person, discuss your goals, and explain the specific protocol I'd recommend. If you're on certain skincare products (retinoids, exfoliating acids), I may ask you to pause them beforehand.
02. During the session.
Numbing cream is applied before treatment. Most clients describe the sensation as heat and pressure rather than sharp pain. Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes depending on the treatment area.
03. Downtime.
Plan for 3 to 7 days of redness, swelling, and peeling. Similar to a sunburn. Most clients feel comfortable being seen in public by day 5 to 7. I send you home with a recovery balm and specific aftercare instructions. SPF is critical during healing, and direct sun exposure is off-limits.
04. Results.
You'll see initial improvement as the skin heals over the first couple of weeks. The real payoff builds over the following 3 to 6 months as new collagen continues forming beneath the surface. Some clients achieve their goals in a single session. Others benefit from 2 to 3 sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart.
Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Skin Resurfacing
-
Expect 3 to 7 days of visible redness, swelling, and peeling. The intensity depends on the treatment settings I use, which are based on your skin and your goals. Most clients feel comfortable going out by day 5 to 7. I recommend scheduling your treatment before a stretch where you can lay low for the first few days.

Numbing cream is applied before every treatment, and most clients tolerate it well. The sensation is heat and pressure rather than sharp pain. If you're nervous about discomfort, tell me. I adjust the settings and pace so you're comfortable throughout.

Both stimulate collagen production, but they work at different levels of intensity. Microneedling creates superficial micro-channels and is best for mild texture, pores, and early fine lines with minimal downtime. Opus Plasma™ uses plasma energy for deeper fractional resurfacing, delivering more significant results for skin laxity, deeper wrinkles, and sun damage. The tradeoff is more downtime. During your consultation, I'll recommend which option makes sense for what you're trying to accomplish.
-
Yes. The Fractional Plasma™ energy stimulates collagen remodeling within stretch mark tissue, improving texture and appearance over a series of sessions. Results vary depending on the age, depth, and colour of the stretch marks. I'll give you a realistic assessment during your consultation.
