What an iPixel Laser Peel Actually Does
The iPixel is a fractional erbium laser. It creates thousands of tiny columns of treated tissue in the skin, leaving the surrounding skin intact. That untreated tissue is what speeds up your healing. Your body responds by producing new collagen and replacing damaged surface cells with fresh, smoother skin.
Think of it this way: a chemical peel works mainly on the surface, targeting texture, tone, hyperpigmentation, and superficial wrinkles. ClearLift targets the deep dermal layer to stimulate collagen production, leaving the top layer of the skin intact. The iPixel uniquely works in both the deep dermal layer using heat to tighten the skin, as well as the superficial epidermal layer utilizing a fractionated ablative laser to resurface the skin; treating hyperpigmentation, scars, and wrinkles. Results tend to be similar to that of a CO2 treatment but with less intensity and downtime.
That middle ground matters. Not every face needs the most intensive option. And choosing a lighter treatment when it's the right fit isn't settling. It's precision.
Is iPixel Right For You?
If your skin texture changed, pores look larger, your skin doesn't reflect light the way it used to, makeup sits differently than it did a few years ago, and topical products aren't getting you there anymore, an iPixel peel is worth considering.
The key question is how much downtime you can take. If you can handle 5-7 days of downtime, the iPixel is your go-to for resurfacing. If you are looking for comparable results, but with less downtime (3-5 days), Opus Plasma is your choice. Real resurfacing results on a schedule that fits your life.
A lot of my clients use it as an initial skin resurfacing treatment if their main concern is sun damage, often booked as a series of 2-4 treatments, and then once or twice a year for maintenance. They alternate iPixel sessions with Opus Plasma or microneedling to keep their skin quality consistent year-round. It's not a one-time fix. It's a piece of a longer-term plan.
How The iPixel Treatment Works
The session takes about 20 to 30 minutes for a full face. I apply a topical numbing cream beforehand so you're comfortable throughout.
During treatment, you'll feel warmth and a prickling sensation as the laser moves across your skin. It's tolerable for most people, especially with the numbing.
Afterward, your skin will be red and feel warm, similar to a sunburn. Over the next two to four days, you'll experience mild peeling as the treated skin sheds and new skin comes through underneath. By day three or four, most clients feel comfortable going out without thinking about it.
Results become visible once the peeling resolves. Your skin will look smoother and more even in tone. Collagen remodeling continues for four to eight weeks after each session, so the improvement builds over time.
For the best results, I recommend two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Some clients see enough improvement after two. We assess as we go.

iPixel is a slightly more intense resurfacing treatment with more downtime and more intensity. It's best for moderate to severe concerns like sun damage, deeper wrinkles, texture concerns. Opus produces similar results, with significantly less down time. I recommend one over the other based on what your skin actually needs, your budget, and your comfort level.

Plan for 5-7 days of redness and dry, flakey skin. Redness will be it’s worst at days 1-3, gradually improving each day. Less downtime than traditional CO2 lasers, but more visible than a treatment like ClearLift™, which has no downtime at all.

Yes. iPixel works well as part of an ongoing skin improvement plan. Many clients alternate it with microneedling or chemical peels depending on what their skin needs at the time. iPixel also pairs wonderfully with PRP applied topically to boost collagen and speed recovery.
